Eugene S. Kruk, Scranton, died Wednesday in the Geisinger-Community Medical Center. He and his wife, the former Florence Lopatka, celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary this past August 17th.
Born in Scranton, son of the late Stanley and Lillian Kutulis Kruk, he was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School, went on to attend Lackawanna Junior College and served in the U.S. Air Force. Prior to retirement, he was employed as an auto mechanic by several local car dealerships. He was a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish at Holy Rosary and was devoted to and enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Also surviving is a daughter Karen Clark and husband Randy, Springville; sons Kristopher Kruk and companion Kari Vaughn, Huber Heights, OH; and Kevin J. Kruk and wife Lisa, Scranton; grandchildren Amanda Kruk, Frank Siglin, Holly Traver, Krystina Kruk, Kyle Kruk, Katie Kruk, Jessica Siglin,, Lillian Kruk, Kevin W. Kruk, and Korey Kruk; great-grandchildren Brandi and Jasmine; sisters Margaret Soncotski, Dunmore; Eleanor Kruk, Scranton; and Ann Marie Kruk, Scranton; as well as nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be Monday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with mass at 9:30 a.m. in the Mary, Mother of God Parish at Holy Rosary Church, William St., Scranton. Interment, Fairview Memorial Park. Friends may call in the funeral home on Sunday from 4-7 p.m.
