Anita S. Farris Lance, 48, of Scranton, died Thursday in Moses Taylor Hospital, Scranton, surrounded by her loving family after a long courageous battle with Cancer. She is survived by her loving husband, James Lance, the couple had been married for 26 years.

Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of Michael, Sr. and Kathryn Derrig Farris and was a member of Mary, Mother of God Parish, Scranton. She was a 1981 Graduate of Dunmore High School.

Anita was an avid Pittsburgh Steeler fan and her daughter, Kayla was the pride and joy of her life. She will be sadly missed by all who knew her. The family wishes to thank Dr. Lisa Thomas and staff for all of their care and compassion during Anita’s illness and a special thank you to Anita’s life-long friend, Carmella Williams whose help was deeply appreciated.

Also surviving is a daughter, Kayla, at home

Brothers, Michael Farris and wife Carmel, Dunmore; Thomas Farris and wife Angela, Dickson City, Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

The funeral will be Monday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore with Mass at 9:30a.m. in Holy Rosary Church, 316 Williams St., North Scranton.

Interment, St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Moscow.

Friends may call Sunday from 3-6p.m.

My Deepest Condolences to your entire family. I know Anita will be greatly missed. She was a lovely woman. I knew her in high school. You are in my prayers.

So sorry to hear of Anita's passing, my heart goes out to her loved ones...however, I do believe she is in a better place, may God rest her soul..

We are so sorry for the loss of a mother, wife daughter, sister aunt etc.and also our cousin. We will remember that smile you always had ...I can still remember when you were sick and I was at the mall and someone was yelling my name only to turn around and see you R.I.P. we love you Jerry and Mariann
