Antoinette “Toni” Giello Loretti, died Sunday February 26th in Palm Coast, Florida She was married to Colonel Orlando Peter Loretti USAF who preceded her in death August 2010.
Born in Dunmore, she was the daughter of the late Gennaro and Gaetana Marciano Giello.
The Loretti’s retired in Palm Coast following Peter’s retirement from the United States Air Force in 1976 after 34 years of service. A business major, prior to her marriage, Toni was employed by Allied Coal Co., in Dunmore, PA., in the accounting department. She was an excellent cook, who always enjoyed having her family and guests to dinner.
Toni was leaderboard chairperson at several LPGA Tournaments, and was involved as Leaderboard Chair for the LPGA Solheim Cup at Lake Nona, Orlando, Florida. She also served as the Leaderboard Chair at the PGA Seniors Tournament at Ocean Hammock and served as volunteer chair for the PGA qualifying school at the Pine Course and Matanzas Golf Course in the late 80’s. Toni was also the Leaderboard Chair for the Ginn Tournaments at the Ocean Hammock and the Conservatory. She was involved in the North Florida PGA as Registration Chair for the Pine Course and Palm Harbor Golf Course and honored by the North Florida PGA for her dedication to golf and availability to assist in any way possible when called upon to do so. Tony also chaired the Jim Miskelly annual golf tournament for 14 years. It was formerly the Chips and Putts Tournament founded by Jim Miskelly.
As a life-long member of the Pine Lakes Golf Club, Toni was inducted into the Grand Club Golf Hall of Fame in 2011. She was an avid golfer with 13 area championships in the women’s golf associations and club championships. She also had six holes in one. Toni enjoyed participating in the annual Sally Championship at Oceanside Country Club of Ormond Beach for 14 years. She also participated in the Military Dependents Golf Tournament for 20 years.
Toni is survived by her daughter, Linda Trump of Palm Coast; son, John (Cynthia) Loretti of Colorado; one brother, William Giello; grandchildren, Atty. Christopher Trump (Jennifer Alexander and Carter and Ella), Peter (Margaret) DeDomenico and Jacob, and Kim (Steven) Duty. She is also survived by sisters-in-law, Irene Giello and Caroline Giello and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by a sister Margaret Auriemma, and brothers, Dan, Frank and Vincent Giello.
The funeral will be Saturday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc. with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30AM in St. Anthony of Padua Church in Dunmore. Interment will follow in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Dunmore.
