Attorney Stuart Moskovitz, 69, of Clarks Summit, passed away Wednesday at home surrounded by his loving family after a brave battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, the former Janet Nogi.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Jacob and Freda Miller Moskovitz, as well as Esther Miller Moskovitz, who was considered his second mother. He was a graduate of Scranton Central High School, and went on to receive his bachelor of arts degree from the Pennsylvania State University, and additionally serving in the United States Air Force. He later earned his Juris Doctorate from Villanova University and continued to practice law while leading the family-run insurance agency, Man, Levy and Nogi, Inc. Established in 1926, Stuart dedicated his life to the business, and humbly followed his father-in-law, Seymour Nogi, as president in 1983.
Stuart was admired and respected by family, friends, colleagues, and clients for his integrity, expertise, intelligence, sense of humor and honesty. He was loved and revered by his family for being a devoted father, and a caring and compassionate husband.
In addition to his wife, Janet, he is survived by daughters Amy Moskovitz; Lisa Green and husband Brian; a son, Scott Moskovitz and wife Holly; his beloved grandchildren, Ethan, Sophia, Hudson, Bryce, Chase, and a new baby-to-be; his sister Annette Rice and husband Alfred; beloved nieces and nephews Geoffrey Rice, James Rice, Sue Rice, Jill Nogi and Scott Nogi.
The funeral will be Friday at noon in the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with services by Rabbi Jeffrey Eisenstat and Rabbi Moshe Saks. Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the time of service.
Interment to follow in Temple Israel Cemetery, Dunmore.
Shiva will be observed at the Inn at Nichols Village, Fourth Floor Atrium East Room, 1101 Northern Boulevard, Clarks Summit, on Saturday evening from 7-9 p.m., and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
