Beverly Goodman, 82, died Sunday morning at the Jewish Home of Eastern Pennsylvania, where she had resided for the last several years. She was the devoted wife of the late Joseph Goodman, who died in 2007.
Born in Wilkes-Barre, daughter of the late Harry and Ethel Schreiber Trimas, Beverly graduated from Wilkes -Barre public schools and attended business school before working for the U.S. government in Washington, D.C., before marriage. After marrying the love of her life, she dedicated herself to raising and caring for her family. She was a member of Beth Shalom Congregation and its Sisterhood in Scranton, and was a member for many years of the Jewish Home Auxiliary.
Surviving are two daughters, Cindy Smith and her husband, Alan, Rhode Island; and Karen James, Illinois; a brother, Marvin Trimas, Michigan; four grandchildren, Kevin and Donald James, both of Illinois; and Lauren and Ross Smith, both of Rhode Island; nieces and nephews.
A graveside funeral will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the Dalton Jewish Cemetery with services by Rabbi Dovid Saks. There is no local Shiva.
