Carmella A. Keating, 95, of Dunmore, died Wednesday afternoon in the Jewish Home of Eastern Pennsylvania, Scranton. Her husband, Joseph A. Keating died in April 1950.
Born in Scranton, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Rosa Marie Pietrafesa Ross and was a member of SS Anthony and Rocco Parish, Dunmore and a former member of its Altar and Rosary Society. She attended the Dunmore public schools and worked for many years in the local garment industry. She enjoyed her family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and also enjoyed having everyone over for her “Sunday Dinners." She will be sadly missed.
Surviving is a son Joseph Keating and wife Pauline, Dunmore; and grandchildren, Lori Packer and husband Michael, Lake Worth, Florida; Karen Salzmann and husband Russell, Dunmore; Joseph Keating and wife Tasha, Madison Township;
and Thomas Keating and wife Melissa, Elmhurst; great-grandchildren, Daniel Packer, Andrew and Dale
Salzmann, Haylie and Norah Keating; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Bernetta LoRusso; and brothers Patrick, Matthew, Thomas, William, Angelo and Salvatore Ross.
The funeral will be Monday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Smith St., Dunmore.
Interment, Mt. Carmel Cemetery, Dunmore.
