Daniel William "Dick" Nole, 88, of Scott Twp., died Saturday night in Moses Taylor Hospital. His wife is the former Helen R. Zielenski, whom he married May 24, 1947.
Born in Dunmore, son of the late Joseph and Grace Pietraface Nole, he was a 1943 graduate of Dunmore High School and served in the Air Force during World War II as a radio operator in the Pacific theater of operations. He was a member of SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish, Dunmore. Before retirement, he was employed by Pennsylvania Gas & Water Co. for 35 years. He thoroughly enjoyed woodworking and could repair anything, from small appliances to vehicles.
Also surviving are numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; great-greatnieces and great-great-nephews. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Mike, Leonard, Dominick, William and Canio; and sisters, Jennie Ross, Rose Verrastro, Katherine Guarnieri and Anna Russell.
The funeral will be Thursday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, with Mass at 9:30 a.m. in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Smith Street, Dunmore. Entombment in Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
