Deborah L. Tabone, 61, Eynon, died Tuesday in Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore following a courageous two year battle with Glioblastoma. She and her husband John J. Tabone Jr. celebrated their 10th wedding anniversary on May 4th.

Born in Scranton she was the daughter of Fern Pennell Kipp, Dunmore and the late Charles Kipp.

She was a 1974 graduate of Dunmore High School where she was valedictorian and furthered her education at the University of Kentucky and Lackawanna College. Prior to her illness was employed for 40 years by the Pennsylvania Power and Light Co., as a customer care representative.

Deborah was a member of the Dunmore United Methodist Church. She loved all animals, especially dogs and enjoyed flower gardening, her favorites being red roses and geraniums. Known as Debbie to all who loved her, she was truly loving, kind, generous, selfless, thoughtful and caring with an infectious laugh, a huge heart and a smile that would light up anywhere she would go. She made herself available to anyone who needed her help, no matter what the sacrifice. As hard as she worked she loved even greater. Loving daughter and sister, dedicated mother and the most incredible wife any man could ever desire. She will be truly missed by all.

Also surviving are son, Brandon K. Pope, West Pittston, brother Bill Kipp, Scranton, step-sons Leonard Tabone, Bethlehem and Christopher Tabone and wife, Olga, Allentown and her in laws, John and Rita Tabone, Dunmore, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30 A.M. in the Dunmore United Methodist Church, 224 South Blakely St., Dunmore, by Rev. Betty Reilly and Rev. Fred Snyder. Interment to follow in Lakeville Cemetery, Paupack, Twp., Wayne County.

Family and friends may call Friday at the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 East Drinker St., Dunmore from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., and on Saturday morning at the church from 9:30 A.M. to the time of services.

In lieu of flowers, preferred memorial contributions may be made to the Griffin Pond Animal Shelter, 967 Griffin Pond Rd., Clarks Summit, 18411; or to Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 100 William St., Dunmore, 18510.
