Donald L. Becker, 82, Dunmore died Thursday morning in the Hospice of the Sacred Heart Inpatient Unit in Dunmore. His late wife, the former Lois McAuliffe died in 1997.

Born in Throop, he was the son of the late Herbert and Margaret Pesarchik Becker. Donald served honorably in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He had earned his Bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania State University and prior to retirement had worked for over 35 years as an engineer for RCA in Mountaintop. He was a member of Dunmore Presbyterian Church where he had served as deacon and elder for many years.

He was a loving father, grandfather, brother and uncle who enjoyed being with his grandsons as he treasured their trips to Chucky Cheese and Lahey Family Fun Park. His grandsons will miss their “Baba”, more than words can express.

His family would like to thank the staff at Hospice of Sacred Heart for the love and compassion shown to Donald, during his stay with them.

Surviving are a daughter, Linda Muracco and her husband Gary, Dunmore, two grandsons, Matthew Becker Muracco and Michael Joseph Muracco, both of Dunmore, two sisters, Janet Bennett and her husband Walter, and Sandie Battle and her husband Chuck, all of Dunmore, and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be Monday at noon in the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc. 318 East Drinker Street in Dunmore with services by Rev. James Marsh. Interment will take place in Dunmore Cemetery with full military honors.

Friends may call Sunday from 3pm-6pm.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Dunmore Presbyterian Church 137 Chestnut Street Dunmore 18512.

Please accept my sympathies to the entire family on the passing of your husband, father, grandfather, and brother.
I am in Florida attending the graduation of my oldest grandson, Jack.
Otherwise I would be there.
