Donald M. “Donnie” Junz, 43, of Stroudsburg, died Sunday evening in the Geisinger Medical Center in Danville. His wife is Valerie Keiper also of Stroudsburg. 

Born and raised in Scranton, he was the son of Ann White Junz and the late Donald Junz.

Donnie was a graduate of Scranton Central High School and was an entrepreneur at heart. He was Co-owner/Operator of The Valley Beat Weekly Newspaper distributed in the Lehigh Valley of Pa. He also enjoyed playing billiards but will be remembered most of all as a loving and caring husband, son, brother, and uncle.

Also surviving are two sisters, Kimberly O’Malley, of Clarks Summit, and Dawn Germano and her husband Nick, of Dunmore, and an Aunt Trudy Junz, of Scranton and several nieces and nephews; Katelyn Pasco, Nicholas Germano, Jillian O’Malley, and Benjamin O’Malley.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandmother Ann Shimkosky  and paternal grandparents Carl & Eleanor Junz.                    .

The funeral will be Friday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc. 318 East Drinker Street in Dunmore with mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am in Immaculate Conception Church, Taylor Avenue and East Gibson Street in Scranton. Interment will follow in the Cathedral Cemetery in Scranton.

Friends may call Thursday evening at the funeral home from 5pm-8pm.

i remember one of the first times i met donnie he was riding his hutch trickstar and i thought wow this guys is so lucky check out that bike we rode our bikes together that day i believe brad was there and from that time on we were friends ill never forget that he was such a cool kid and i believe that someday well be able to ride together again. god bless you donnie ill miss you and see ya when its my time bro. your friend dave.
