Eileen T. Pesavento, 86, of Scranton, died Friday morning at the Jewish Home of Eastern PA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph E. Pesavento, on Nov. 2, 2000.

Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Ralph and Mary Genovese Sallusti, she was a graduate of Scranton Central High School, and was a lifelong member of St. Lucy's Church and its Altar and Rosary Society. Before retirement, she was employed at Marywood University for more than 18 years.

Surviving are sons, John J. Pesavento and companion, Lisa Cunningham, Clarks Summit; and Joseph Pesavento, Scranton; a daughter, Marilyn Levy and husband, James, Scranton; grandchildren, Maria Shevchik, Julie and Eileen Pesavento and Mollie and Sara Levy; great-grandchildren, Brielle, Giana, Christian and Jayden; a brother, Henry Sallusti and wife, Pauline, Scranton; sisters, Theresa Taffera, Scranton; Joan DiAndriole and husband, Guy, Old Forge; and Betty Sallusti, Scranton; nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was also preceded in death by a brother, Frank Sallusti; and two sisters, Henrietta Shoop and Marie Notartomas.

The funeral will be Tuesday with Mass at 11 a.m. in the Church of St. Gregory, North Abington Road, Clarks Green. Interment will follow at Cathedral Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore.

Friends may call Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until Mass at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Jewish Home of Eastern PA, 1101 Vine St., Scranton, PA 18510; St. Francis of Assisi Kitchen, 500 Penn Ave., Scranton, PA 18503; or St. Gregory's Parish, 330 N. Abington Road, Clarks Green, PA 18411

I wish to express my deepest sympathy in the loss of your mother. I always have fond memories of growing up together living next door. She was a fine and caring woman.
