Jerome J. Wrabel, 88, Dunmore, died Thursday morning in Dunmore Health Care Center. He and his wife the former Rose Williams had celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on May 7th.

Born in Throop, he was the son of the late John and Julia Wrabel. He was a long time member of SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish in Dunmore and its Holy Name Society. He was a graduate of Throop High School, Johnson Technical School, and after graduation he served honorably in the U.S. Navy for four years during the Korean Conflict. Prior to retirement he had been employed with Loral Controls and then Weston Controls which is currently Lockheed Martin.

His family would like to give special thanks to the staffs at both Dunmore Health Care Center and Celtic Hospice, for the care and compassion shown to Jerome by them.

Also surviving are a daughter Debra Santarsiero and her husband Michael, Jefferson Township, and a son John Wrabel, Dunmore, three grandchildren, Michael, Desirae, and Alexa Santarsiero, all of Jefferson Township, a brother Joseph Wrabel, Throop, and a sister Janet Sosnowski, Dickson City, and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday at 11AM in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Smith Street, in Dunmore. Interment will take place in the Dunmore Cemetery.

There are no public calling hours.

I was saddened to read of the loss of your Dad.
