Joseph R. Lynott, 79, of Scranton, died Monday morning in Lackawanna Health Care Center, Olyphant.
Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Joseph A. and Evelyn E. Walters Lynott and was a graduate of Scranton Technical High School. He was an Army Veteran and served during the Korean War.
Prior to retirement, he worked as a supervisor for Allied Services.
He was a quiet, simple man who loved his family and enjoyed
model railroading as a hobby. The family wishes to thank the administration and
staff at Allied Terrace Assisted Living for all of their care and compassion
during his residency there.
Surviving is a brother; Michael F. Lynott and his wife
Barbara, Jefferson Township; an aunt; Margaret Love, Scranton and an uncle;
Willard Walters, Leesburg, Virginia. Nieces; Michelle Lynott and Sara
Kortesluoma and husband Ilkka and nephews; Andrew, Patrick and Thomas Lynott
and a great nephew; Aiden Duffy and cousins.
The funeral will be Friday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis
Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore with Mass at 9:30am in St.
Eulalia’s Church, Blue Shutters Rd., Elmhurst
Interment, Fairview Memorial Park, Elmhurst
