Jude Theodore Zayac, three months old, passed away in his mother’s arms at Moses Taylor Hospital on Wednesday, July 23, 2014.  He is the beloved son of Gregory and Theodocia Lawless Zayac and will be deeply missed by his adoring big brother, Gregory Zayac, Jr.

“Sweet Baby Jude” gave us a lifetime of love during his short time on earth.  Jude enjoyed his quiet naps on the dock at Lake Ariel and to the delight of his parents, got to dip his toes in the ocean and relax on the beach just two weeks before his passing.  Watching his big brother, Gregory, play and be silly brought endless laughs and smiles to Jude’s sweet face.

Jude is being greeted in heaven by his paternal great-grandfathers, Ralph Miller and Theodore Zayac, Sr., his maternal great-grandfathers, William Sweeny and James Robert Lawless, his maternal great-grandmother, Mariclare O’Malley Lawless, and his maternal great-aunt, Nancy Lawless Grace.

Jude’s memory will be carried on by his big brother Gregory, maternal grandparents John and Florence Lawless, Dunmore, paternal grandparents Theodore and Kim Zayac, Dunmore, his aunts and uncles Kevin and Mariclare Lawless Hayes, Scranton, Jack Lawless, Matthew Lawless, both of Dunmore, Shamus and Cara Zayac McCormick, Scranton, Steve and Jessica Zayac, Throop, and Bryan Zayac, Dunmore, his great-grandmothers Theodocia Sweeny, Olyphant, Peggy Miller, Scranton, and Camilla Zayac, Dunmore, his cousins Kevin, Jr., Nora and Jack Hayes, Scranton, and Helen Zayac, Throop, and numerous great aunts, great uncles and cousins.

A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 9:30 A.M. in St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church, 322 Chestnut St., Dunmore. The family will receive friends in the church from 8:00 A.M. until the time of mass. Interment in Dunmore Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Jude Zayac Memorial Fund c/o Fidelity Bank, Blakely and Drinker Streets, Dunmore, 18512.

Theo and I worked together at Joseph M. Alu and Associates. I just learned that this was your son. My heart breaks for you. Being a mom, I can't begin to imagine how you feel. I will be praying for you to be strong and that each day will be a little better. I just wanted you to know you are in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless you and your family.

Dear Ted and family:
My deepest sympathy in the loss of your grandson. As the obituary states, he will have a family reunion with all those waiting to meet him at the pearly gates of Heaven. The good Lord needed another angel and selected JUDE. God bless all of you at this most difficult time. May our good Lord and our Blessed Mother give you the strength to carry on knowing your precious little one is your newest guardian angel.
Sincerely, MaryAnn
