Lillian Eleanor Naro

Binghamton, NY August 9, 1924 ~ June 14, 2016 Date of Service: June 21, 2016

Lillian E. Naro, 91, of Binghamtom, N.Y., died peacefully at home Tuesday morning. She was surrounded by her family, including her husband, Sebastiano "Sabie" Naro, with whom she would have celebrated 60 years of marriage on June 16.

Born in Pittston, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Josephine Consagra Tuzze. She graduated from Pittston High School and was the owner and operator of the Shalee Beauty Salon for many years before retiring to raise a family.

Lillian attended St. John the Evangelist Church in Binghamton, and was a member of St. John's Holy Rosary Confraternity. She enjoyed traveling to Atlantic City with her husband, and she had a passion for making ceramics.

Gifted with a "green thumb," she loved her garden and flowers. She had a soft spot in her heart for her six grandchildren, and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

The family wishes to thank Dr. David Zander and Lourdes Hospice of Binghamton for their loving care and compassion.

Besides her husband, Sabie, survivors include her sons, Louis (Ellen) Naro of Corning, N.Y.; and Joseph Naro of Binghamton; six grandchildren, Christopher (Maryanne) Naro of Birmingham, Ala.; Jeffrey Naro of Atlanta, Ga.; Elizabeth Naro of Washington, D.C.; Joseph Naro of Davis, Calif.; and Brenden and Eric Naro, both of Binghamton; four great-grandchildren: Alexander, Mia, Matthew and Kaela Naro; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Teresa, Mary and Rose Tuzze, Vincetine Battaglia and Lucy Buscemi; brothers, Joseph and Allessandro Tuzze; and her dear daughter-in-law, Karen Naro, who died in December 2011.

Friends are invited to call at the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore, on Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 801 Taylor Ave., Scranton.

Burial will be at Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.

So very sorry for your loss. I will be out of town that week. Otherwise I would visit. Her picture in the paper was beautiful. Sincerely, Uncle Joe's daughter Tina
