Lottie Blasko Montaro, 100, of Dunmore, passed away Thursday at home surrounded by her family. Her husband Ralph Montaro, died in 1977.
Born July 29, 1915, in Scranton, daughter of the late Peter and Anna Cimoch Blasko, she was a graduate of Sterling High School and had worked at the Scranton Silk Mill. Lottie was a member of SS. Anthony and Rocco Parish in Dunmore.
Her family wishes to acknowledge both Caregivers of America staff, Keesha and Liza, as well as Lorilinn of Celtic Hospice for their wonderful care. Also a special debt of gratitude is extended to her granddaughter, best friend and caretaker Lottie.
She loved cooking for her family and enjoyed shopping trips.
Also surviving are her sons, Frank and wife, Angela; and Ralph; both of Dunmore. Grandchildren: Lottie Montaro Zack and husband Edward; Denise Montaro; Anthony Montaro and wife Diana; Gina McGraw and husband Robert; Frank Montaro and wife Donna; all of Dunmore. Ralph Montaro, Dupont; Great-grandchildren Linelle DeNaples and husband Chistopher; Eddie and Mercede Zack, Nicole Nenish and husband Michael; Jennifer Young and husband Rod; Emily McGraw; Courtney, Tyler, Frank, Maria, Anthony and Joey Montaro, all of Dunmore. SPC Casey Montaro, Wahiawa, Hawaii; Angelo Montaro, New York City; Great-great grandchildren, triplets- Christopher, Zackery and Sophia DeNaples. Siblings: Helen Shenko, Ceil Maleski and Edward Blasko and wife Millie, Moscow; and nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her siblings: Stella Brodowsky, Jay Blasko, Irene Ziskowski, and Marian Sienko; grandson Ralph Montaro.
The funeral will be Monday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home 318 E. Drinker St. Dunmore with Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30AM in St. Anthony of Padua Church, 303 Smith St. Dunmore. All those attending the funeral mass are asked to go directly to the church. Interment will follow at St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Moscow.
