In Remembrance of Robert Snell

Robert Snell, Scranton, died Thursday afternoon. He and his wife, the former Lou Ann Wickel had been married for 54 years.
Born in Dunmore, son of the late Nicholas and Irene Vorozilchak Snell, he was a graduate of Dunmore High School and went on to attend the University of Scranton. He was a U.S. Veteran, having served during the Korean War as part of the 552nd Army Engineers. As a younger man, Bob loved playing league baseball at Schautz Memorial Stadium. He lived for his family, and would spend as much time with them as he could, even becoming a member of the Dearly Departed Players historical theatre group.
Surviving are daughters Julie Snell-Esty and Leslie Kirchner and husband Robert, as well as grandchildren Kelly Kirchner, Megan Esty, and Robert Joshua Kirchner, all of Scranton; a brother Thomas Snell and wife Gerda, CA; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Nicholas.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. in the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until the time of service.
