Ruth D. Pace, 84, Dunmore, died Friday morning in the Dunmore Health Care Center. Her husband, the late Carmen T. “Dickie” Pace preceded her in death on July 26, 1998.

Born in Scranton, daughter of the late Joseph and Marcella Dukauskas, she was educated in Scranton public schools.  Together with her husband, they owned and operated Pace’s Market on Smith Street in Dunmore. She enjoyed sitting on her veranda and cooking for her family, and was extremely proud of her grandchildren.

Surviving are sons Alan C. Pace, Sr. and wife Debra of Dunmore, and Glen T. Pace and wife Pamela of White Haven; grandchildren, Dr. Alan C. Pace, Jr. of Dunmore, and Lauren Pace of Easton, MD; sisters Violet Pace of Dunmore, and Adele “Dolly” Budris of Scranton; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her sisters Ann Siock, Mary Gavalis, and Marsha Kovitz; and brothers Joseph, Clarence, William and Albert Dukauskas.

Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside funeral service on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. in Dunmore Cemetery. All those attending are asked to please gather at the cemetery office, 400 Church St., Dunmore, by 11:15 a.m.

Arrangements and care provided by the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., Dunmore.

Dear family and relatives: I am sorry to hear about Aunt Ruthie's passing. I send sympathy and prayers to the family. She was always special to me.
