Dunmore, PA December 6, 1961 ~ June 3, 2017 Date of Service: June 10, 2017

Anthony “Tony” J. Barone, Jr., 55, of Dunmore, died Saturday morning at home.

Born in Scranton, he is the son of Anthony, Sr. and the former Audrey Quinn and was a graduate of Dunmore High School. He was a former employee of the First National Community Bank, Dunmore and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

He was a former member of Elmhurst Country Club and was an avid New York Mets fan. He was a loving father and adored his daughter, Abbey. She was the light of his life.

Tony lived life to the fullest and enjoyed nothing more than being around his daughter, friends and family. Dunmore was the center of his universe but had many friends beyond the borough. He was always up for a challenge or something different. Everyone that had the opportunity to meet him enjoyed his company, stories, smiles and laughs. He was a person that had a big heart and would never say no to anyone in need. Tony’s presence, flash and sense of style will truly be missed by many.

Tony’s family wishes to thank Dr. Salvatore Lawrence and Dr. Kevin Olsen for their outstanding care over the years.

Also surviving is a loving daughter, Abbey. A brother; Jeff and his wife Marilee. Nieces; Marisa and Caroline Barone and nephew; John Barone, all of Dunmore. Tony’s loving companion, Kim Balascio, Dickson City.  Numerous cousins and friends.

The funeral will be Saturday from the Carlucci-Golden-DeSantis Funeral Home, Inc., 318 E. Drinker St., Dunmore with Mass at 9:30am in St. Anthony of Padua Church, Smith St., Dunmore.

Interment, Dunmore Cemetery

To the entire Barone family,
I am at a loss for words .i am sorry that I couldn't make it to the funeral home. I will remember Tony as always having a smile and a kind word . He cared how everyone was doing. I went to Jefferson on pine st. with him back in the day. He was funny and kindhearted and a good man son and father. As you know I grew up next to Benny and Rose an the girls . I will always have a soft spot in my heart for all of the Barone' s
You and your family will be in my prayers . May our Lord Jesus carry you. Its unimanginable.

Cousin... what can I say, I have enjoyed so many family times with you in the past, maybe not so many in recent times due to distance. You always had a good story, you always made us laugh, and you always had a smile. I know things were not always easy for you, but you still had a big heart and were willing to help. Your family and friends will miss you greatly. Rest in Peace always! My thoughts and prayers go out to my Aunt Audrey, Uncle Tony, my cousins Jeff and his family, and Abbey. Love to all!
