Carolyn Petitto Obituary

Carolyn A. Petitto, 84, of Dunmore, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026, at Geisinger Community Medical Center in Scranton, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Scranton on November 30, 1941, Carolyn was the daughter of the late Sam and Mary (Sheridan) Costa. She was a proud graduate of Scranton Technical High School and dedicated many years of service as the front-end manager at Price Chopper in Dunmore until her retirement in 2007.

Carolyn was an avid bowler in the Dunmore Ladies League and cherished the many friendships she made through the years. She enjoyed her daily coffee, treasured her girls’ trips to Lake Ontario, and found her greatest joy in spending time with her family—especially her grandchildren and great-granddaughter, who were the light of her life.

In addition to her parents, Carolyn was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Geraldine “Gerry” Chiappini.

She is survived by her devoted husband, Angelo Petitto of Dunmore; her daughters, Andrea Keith and her husband Daryl, and Alisa Petitto all of Dunmore; and her son, Angelo Petitto Jr. of Madison Township. She is also survived by her brothers, Sam and John Costa, both of Scranton; her granddaughter, Gabrielle Hilson and her husband Patrick of Maitland, Florida; her grandson, Logan Baum of Dunmore; and her two cherished great-grandchildren, Olivia and Henry Hilson. Carolyn also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews.

The funeral mass will be held at St. Mary's of Mount Carmel Parish at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 interment will be held in St. Catherine's Cemetery Moscow.

Carolyn will be remembered for her warmth, her love of family, and the countless memories she created with those she held dear. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
